Location: 60 km south of Colombo and 100 km south of the airport. Saman Villas is magnificently perched on a rocky headland dividing two long seemingly endless, surf-swept unspoilt beaches of golden sand, backed by dense green coconut plantations, in the quiet-sleepy fishing village of Aturuwella in Bentota. The atmosphere is one of tranquillity, disturbed only by the sound of sea gulls and the waves breaking on the rocks below. The views, from anywhere in the hotel, are unbelievably magnificent.


Accommodation: There are just 27 luxuriously furnished, air-conditioned Suites designed in traditional Sri Lankan style and carefully positioned to give spectacular views of the shoreline and sea. They include an open-air bathroom, dressing room, sleeping deck, lounge area and veranda, mini bar, cable and satellite TV, radio, CD player, telephone, safe, make-up mirror and hair dryer. A two-storey villa houses a Superior Suite upstairs and a more spacious Deluxe Suite on the ground-floor, with a small garden. The exclusive two-storey Saman Villa , with the bedroom located upstairs, is available for the seeker of maximum comfort and privacy, it has its own small pool.

Facilities
The inviting infinity-edge swimming pool with sea blue water appears to merge with the vast Indian Ocean and beyond. The cascading gardens with beautifully manicured lawns on the rock face offer a variety of locations to appreciate the magnificent view, caressed by cooling sea breeze, in quite relaxation.

Two restaurants overlooking the pool and the sea beyond; the terrace restaurant caters for breakfast and lunch while the main restaurant on the upper level is open exclusively for dinner. The menus at the main restaurant offer a wide selection of Eastern, Western and Sri Lankan dishes with an extensive range of wines to complement your cuisine.
In addition, to the restaurant’s cuisine, other Asian menus could be arranged on request with prior notice. Special dining can be arranged with prior notice for guests seeking for particular dietary requirements such as low fat, high-fiber, low in carbohydrates/protein, meals for diabetics, meals excluding all dairy products, onion, garlic, peppers (of all kinds), dry yeast, gluten and root vegetables or even catering to guests who require halal food.

The lounge bar beside the pool has breathtaking views of the different shades of blue from the sea and the pool. The sunset bar on the upper floor has a panoramic view of the coast and the central hills.

Other facilities include a well stocked library with a variety of books covering Sri Lanka and music CD’s, snooker table, table tennis, badminton, boardroom facilities that can house up to 12 people and jewellery shop.

Evening entertainment arranged on most evenings; include Ballet and soothing instrumental music.
Sports & Leisure: Freshwater swimming pool with deck chairs and sun shades appears to merge with the vast Indian Ocean beyond. Badminton, table tennis. Evening entertainment programmes - ballets, western music, oriental music, calypso music, magic shows, etc are arranged minimum 5 times a week.
